Over the last ten years, Mary Anne’s research has moved across an interest in the ‘social in the artist’ - the idea that the artist and her work are contingent upon the diversity of social life - towards an address to ‘the artist in the social.’ The latter has entailed work upon the new ‘social art’ practices; forms of art which place far greater emphasis on artists working ‘in the world’ - with other disciplines, and non-art personnel, often in collaborative and participatory ways. back to congressOctParticipants |
